Not only have I dug up this oldie out of my personal cosplay vault, but I've probably dug up a character no one remembers!

For those who don't know, back during the oh so crazy but cool "bad girl craze" which was full of good and bad girls alike, Topps put out a comic called Lady Rawhide! I saw it and knew I had to make that costume, plus no one had really done it at the time.

If this picture looks familiar to anyone - it ran in Wizard, can't remember which issue, and I won runner up for the costume contest. Want to know what won first place? Our very own X-Men group! :D Yep, I made two appearances in that issue.

Here's a look at Lady Rawhide the comic: [link]

I like your Lady Rawhide, could you please do more? She is a character, that is done so little, both in the comics and in cosplay. She could become, more of a favorite, of not only myself, but a lot of other people if she was put out in the publics eye more often!!!!

Actually Lady Rawhide is owned by AC Comics/Bill Black, and has quite a few appearances in their books over the years.

Okay, first, you are just awesome for not only remembering this femme fatale, but ALSO dressing up as her, and you look muoy caliente if I do say so myself :XD: (don't know spanish so sorry for bad spelling BTW). I remember stumbling upon that comic years ago with the super hot cover of being bitten by a vampire and wondered if this was in the right section  ! Grabbed every issue I could and was pleasantly surprised at how good the writing was (I didn't know Don McGregor at the time). To this day I'm still pissed that his last arc got canceled and left it on a cliffhanger, drives me nuts :X she bashes the coffin open and it's a corpse...THEN WHAT :angered: !? It's too bad he didn't try and take it to Heavy Metal or some other outlet for closure, also Esteban Moroto was on fire drawing that book, his art was a huge inspiration to me :XD: !
Anyway I'm glad you posted these cause I totally missed that issue of Wizard if you sent it there to, and I would have remembered something like this. I made an attempt at drawing her myself if you'd like to see, thought the lines didn't come out very well, kinda faded. Ciao!

Well thank you so much! I chose Lady Rawhide at the time because she was fairly new, I loved her and no one else at the time (that I had seen) had done the costume yet - and it was a bit of a challenge. Took forever to put in all those damn grommets by hand!

That's the problem with obscure characters, they don't get enough cosplay treatment, wish more ladies would dress up as the 80s version of Teela from He-Man :-)

I met Adam Hughes recently at the San Jose super con and signed my copy of that LR issue where she's changing clothes and looking surprised at us see her in the cover, brilliant work on his part. Make Mayhew was supposed to be there to but didn't show up the day I went sadly, which sucked cause I had a copy of the Trade he illustrated.
