Lure of the Snow Nymph by Acid-PopTart Lure of the Snow Nymph by Acid-PopTart
Fun story, I sewed those jewels in my hair and then somehow, lost the needle in that huge hair do that I had created. Fun taking all that down!

Khionê was a snow nymph in Greek mythology that had an affair with Poseidon, to which produced a child. To hide his birth, she threw the baby in the ocean. Clearly not the best mother.

cool idea but I think she looks more like a swamp nymph than a snow nymph

Perhaps.... I'm guessing because of the green and black. Just wanted to do something atypical really, and a lot of snow in Northern Greece maintains so much of the earth, there's a lot of green and brown during our snows.... more colour than what I guess America experiences.

Greece is lovely. I guess people just have different ideas of what a snow nymph is to them, which is fine, how boring if everyone thought the same. I've just done the all white thing before, will probably do it again. Quite honestly, the name and the story came about after the photos were taken and I was talking to a relative about our last name relating to Khionê, goddess of the snow in Greek myth.

Still, it's a lovely photograph =)

I'd try something with a red accent next time. I think it would look sharp against the snow =)

I had just created that green fur stole to shoot in, wanted to avoid looking too much like a Christmas tree so avoided red. That and I have a tendency to overuse red in my other shots, it's a common go to for a lot of people; red and black (my last snow shots involved red and black), and I really wanted to experiment with other colour combos, instead of repeating myself.
